If you define a day as the interval between when you wake up one morning and then wake up the next, today has been a very long day. So much has transpired between when I woke up in Oregon on December 19 and now (around 11:15 on December 20 in Germany) that I'm presenting it in chapters.
Before leaving, I told a few folks that this would either be one of the best vacations of my life; or the makings of a European Vacation-type travel comedy. It could still be both, but right now the latter is out in front...
